Summary: The Fender American Vintage Series encapsulates the essential designs from which all Fenders have evolved. Utilizing original specs and tooling, Fender is still making them like they used to. First introduced in 1960 as the Deluxe Model, the Jazz Bass has become one of the most played instruments in modern musical history. All original Fender ‘firsts’ such as the off-set waist body, ultra slim fast-action neck, stacked concentric controls, and full-range bi-pole pickups are detailed in this faithful reissue. All of this is finished up with a nitrocellulose lacquer.

Body: Jazz bass shape, Dakota Red nitrocellulose lacquer finish.

Neck: Maple with a Rosewood fingerboard, white dot inlays, 20 frets, 34” scale length, 1.5” nut width.

Pickups/Hardware: Two Jazz bass single coil pickups, one tone/two volume knobs, 4-saddle bridge, 3-ply white pickguard, round string tree, vintage style tuning keys.

Cosmetics: This bass has various nicks and dings on the body. (See Photos Please) On the back of the neck from the 11th fret to the 14th fret, there are a few dings in the finish that were hard to photograph. Please ask for more photos if you need them. There are surface scratches on the pickguard and a few dings on the headstock. The frets from the third to the 11th have very small divots on the “A” string. Overall, this bass has some cosmetic issues, but it plays and sounds amazing.

Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this bass with a new set of strings. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.
